What are some hosting companies that handle Private Tomcat, Postgres, SSH, Reseller and Cpanel accounts?

FAQ about cpanel reseller:

Specifically I am looking for some hosting companies with:

SSH – with root access to all the logs
Ability to SCP files
Cpanel/WHM
Private Java Tomcat 5.0+
Postgres 7+
Perl 5.6+
3rd Party Monitor
SSH – with root access to all the logs
Ability to SCP files
Cpanel/WHM
Private Java Tomcat 5.0+
Postgres 7+
Perl 5.6+
RAM
3rd Party Monitor

Adding: I have had two hosts and the biggest issue was uptime.
Someone asked – 3rd party monitor?

It is a 3rd party website service that verifies uptime. It is a nice way to prove uptime matches SLA.

  1. ★ Estelle ★ says:

Try JTLNet – you can either get your own server starting at $69/month. Or, you can get virtual private hosting with those services – http://www.jtlnet.com/vps.php

The default for shared hosting is ( http://www.jtlnet.com/linux.php )
    PostgreSQL
Online Control Panel (Cpanel X WHM or DSM)
PHP 4 or 5 Latest Version
    Ruby On Rails
    Servlets/JSP (Tomcat 4)
    MySQL
    Virus and Spam Protection
    SSH Access

so, if you have your own server with them, you can upgrade to TomCat 5.0, or you can go with their inexpensive shared hosting. I know they have Perl/CGI, but don’t know which Perl. I don’t know what a 3rd party monitor is, so can’t tell you if they have it. their tech support is good too. I’ve been hosting sites thru them for 4 years. Least expensive decent host I’ve found. I’ve found cheaper, but haven’t liked their service or support.

Added note: as far as I know, they don’t have a 3rd party monitoring system. I’ve had about 20 sites with them and one dedicated server for 4 years. Uptime on the sites was great (one site was down for about 6 minutes 2 years ago, and that’s all i’ve ever noticed). Dedicated server has been down for a total of less than one hour over since I set it up, with a total of 3 issues over the years. Dedicated server has about 40 sites on it.

I originally picked them as a host b/c they allowed SSH. I’ve stuck with them because for the price, they have the most reliable service and best tech support. Cheaper sites tend to have shady tech support (you never get a human), don’t support their servers (I got php3 at ace-host last month. WTF!), etc. Fancier and more expensive hosting places assume you know nothing and therefore don’t allow SSH access and only limited control panel functionality (one host cost $211 per month for shared hosting and you couldn’t install anything!).

I like JTLNet because although their support team can be arrogant pricks sometimes, at least their responsive, know what they are doing, available 24/7, quickly accessible by phone and email, and they speak English.

No, i don’t work for them, and i don’t get a kickback. Just giving advice. Hope it’s helpful.
